The 2024 Primary Election Day in New Mexico will be held on April 4.

Key Election Dates

Absentee & Early Voting
May 7: 

  • Clerks begin mailing absentee ballots to voters who have requested them. 
  • Books close for online and paper voter registration. 
  • In-person absentee voting and Same Day Registration at Clerk’s Annex begins. 


May 18 – June 1: Early voting and Same Day Registration expand from Monday to Saturday. Most locations open from 10am to 7pm. 

May 21:  Deadline for absentee applications to be received. 

June 1:  Early voting ends.

Election Day
June 4:  Election Day
