Bio

Renée Beltran is the New Mexico Civic Engagement Table Coordinator and has been with CCP since 2019. She was born and raised on a ranch north of Carrizozo, New Mexico, but has made Las Cruces and the Mesilla Valley her home since 1994. Renée is an NMSU alumnus and is passionate about lifting up disenfranchised voices and working to broaden access for all residents to matters of civic engagement and democracy, throughout NM and especially in the Southern NM/Borderland region. As a parent, an educator, and a leader with a number of organizations, Renée has been an active voice for years in her Las Cruces and Mesilla, NM communities. Although Renée’s kids are becoming adults now, as a single mom to three, she remains passionate about mental health care, education, and other issues that directly affect her family, along with other NM families.
