Journal Story on Prostitution Ruling Has Legs

New Mexicans aren’t the only ones shocked to learn that online adult prostitution isn’t illegal (at least, according to a ruling by state District Judge Stan Whitaker).

News and blog sites around the nation – from the Washington Post to msnbc to the Chronicle of Higher Education – have picked up on the June 20 story that ran in the Albuquerque Journal.

The Journal on Monday in an editorial urged prosecutors to appeal Whitaker’s ruling and at the same time urged legislators to update state law so that a “virtual” house of prostitution is as illegal as the bricks-and-mortar kind.

    The DA did use an extraordinary method of appeal to the New Mexico Supreme Court…and the Supreme Court affirmed the ruling of the NM District Court.
    There are NO charges pending against me.
    (Remember the “presumption of innocence” unless proven otherwise–a basic canon of US law? The scandal-mongering media have made a mockery of this, trying and convicting me.
