Center for Civic Policy Launches Digital Efforts to Support National Voter Registration Day
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.– Today, the Center for Civic Policy (CCP) launched a series of digital posts, including Facebook and Twitter content across New Mexico, as part of #NationalVoterRegistrationDay –a massive 50-state effort to register thousands of voters.
The goal for CCP’s 2019 National Voter Registration Day Digital Campaign was to encourage New Mexicans to register to vote and come out to the polls this November.
“With local elections happening in five weeks, every eligible New Mexican voter should exercise his or her right to be heard at the ballot box this year and next. National Voter Registration Day is the right place to start by getting registered to vote,” said Oriana Sandoval, CEO for the Center for Civic Policy.
As a nonpartisan “holiday” for democracy, National Voter Registration Day counts on thousands of partners and volunteers across the political spectrum. Started in 2012, National Voter Registration Day is designed to create an annual moment when the entire nation focuses on registering Americans to exercise their most basic right – the right to vote.
New Mexicans can register to vote or update their voter registration online at NMVote.org. The public can also follow National Voter Registration Day activities through social media on by searching #NationalVoterRegistrationDay.
Deadline to register to vote or update voter registration in New Mexico is Oct. 8th, 2019.
